Thursday, 5 novmber 2009 was the officially inauguration of the primary school at Senya Beraku. At 11.00 a.m.
The auxiliary bishop of Cape Coast the Most Rev. Matthias Nketsiah performed the opening. Also the chief of the village, many representatives of the catholic church, people of the village and of course the children were present.
The coir of the church took care of the musical accompaniment. They gave a very good performance of the song "Tue Tue", the same song we sang at our parties in Roses. Inès joined the coir when they were singing the song. Of course there was a speech from the bishop, the chief, father Anthony York who looked after the project, many others and myself. Some schoolchildren did an act which was very emotional.
The bishop cut the tape and Inès unveiled a memorial stone.
We were very impressed with the program they had for that day.
Ghanaians are very proud of their flag so they also had put up the spanish and dutch flag. A very nice gesture.
We promised to help them also to build the secondary school so we hope you will support us also in the future.

School project
GHANA - AFRICA

The project of the school in Senya-Beraku came up during a visit to the village by Inès Coca and Joost Heitbrink in november 2007.

While visiting the village we saw that the school they had was just a building consisting out of 8 posts and some corrugated sheets as a roof. We decided to help and started this website to keep track of the whole project and to ask you if you want to help us build a new school!

Help the children!

In case you want to help us to finance this school and to help the children in Senya-Beraku, we offer several ways so you can easily do a donation.
